Our native waterbirds are protected under the Wildlife Act, except for when it's native waterbird recreational shooting season in Victoria.
Sadly, to allow our desperately struggling populations of native waterbirds to be shot like this, seems very much at odds with "Biodiversity 2037"- the Victorian government's much needed plan to stop the decline of our native plants and animals.
The plan was to ensure Victoria has a "modern and effective approach to protecting and managing our biodiversity."
